Klaus says:

The photo shows a male white stork “rattling” on a power pole in Wiesbaden (Germany). After trying unsuccessfully to conquer a female, this male retreated onto this power pole and began rattling in apparent frustration. The metal framework around the bird looked to me like a cage in which the frustrated stork was kept. I opted for a strong underexposure to underline the graphic expression of the picture. I also converted the image to black and white.
