For many years it has been on my bucket list to visit Yellowstone National Park. I decided to visit during the winter months, expecting there to be fewer people and therefore hopefully witness more wildlife in its natural environment. During the winter, there can be a lot of snowfall in Yellowstone and therefore the wildlife often uses the roads to move around on the packed snow roads rather than the deeper powdery snow off-road. This image made me smile as it just made me think of a Road Block, Yellowstone style, with this herd of bison moving slowly. It was an impressive sight to see as they moved passed us.

From childhood, I have always had a strong fascination with nature. When I was given my first camera, it was no surprise that I focussed it on wildlife. I wanted to capture the beauty in nature and travel the world.

Having witnessed so many wildlife spectacles all around the world, I have also seen how our desire for wealth and resources is forcing nature into ever smaller pockets of natural environments, or ‘nature reserves’, to survive in. This has led me towards wanting to use my imagery to help educate and inspire people, to preserve the amazing natural world that we are so rapidly destroying and before it’s too late.
