I took this image in east Hokkaido, Japan. This Ezo sika deer was the talk amongst photographers and I also wanted to take pictures of him. I drove to the east and looked for this double-headed deer. It did not take much time to find him and he walked towards me in a snowstorm. At first sight, I was shocked because this poor deer has to live through a harsh winter with a rotting skull locked in his antlers. At the same time, I was touched by his will to live. I don’t know if he is still alive or not. But I will never forget this encounter.
