Aleksandr Leshchenok says:

The photo was taken in Yergaki Nature Park, located in the southern Krasnoyarsk region in the Western Sayan Mountains. It is a pristine area in Siberia, surrounded by lakes, taiga, rocks, and mountain peaks. Here, all the accepted principles of constructing a “classical” landscape are disregarded. The area amazes the imagination with its otherworldliness. There is a persistent feeling of being between dream and reality. Like the hero of the novel “The Overturned World,” I try to realize this unreal reality through forms, lines, and meanings, as well as convey my emotions and sensations from what I have seen.

Every year, I strive to reach this harsh and inaccessible mountainous region to capture the epic power of the Sayan landscape. While working on the image of my native Siberia, I have to solve various color and spatial problems. The photographs in the Sayan series are picturesque tales of remote, silent mountain expanses.

With each trip, Yergaki leaves a deep, indelible mark on my thoughts and feelings!

Siberia

Aleksandr Leshchenok is a landscape photographer and traveler from Siberia, and a member of the photographers’ association “EURASIA”.

Aleksandr uses photography as a tool for inner dialogue and calm, deep contemplation. The forms of nature speak to him in the language of human emotions. While exploring the corners of Siberia, he is compelled to understand himself, maintain constant contact with his inner feelings, reflect on his role and purpose in existence, and realize the emotions that nature evokes. Forests, mountains, and water are all motifs for inspiration and reflection on concrete experiences.

He subtly and sincerely reveals the corners of the Siberian landscape. His works invite viewers to enter the scene, become part of the landscape, and feel, if only for a moment, the silence, tranquility, and connection with the monumentality of nature.
