Mateusz Piesiak says:
During an expedition to the South Luangwa River in Zambia, I came across a leopard resting on a tree branch. He seemed clearly content after enjoying a hearty meal. We spent several hours with him, quietly watching him sleep in the warm afternoon light. After a while, I decided to capture the scene from a different perspective. I attached a teleconverter and framed the shot so that the leopard’s fur and the texture of the tree trunk completely filled the frame. The result was an intriguing composition that emphasized the diverse textures and natural patterns of Africa.

Poland
I’m a Polish nature photographer and filmmaker. For over 15 years, I’ve focused my lens on nature, capturing its beauty with an artistic touch. Each photo requires hours of observation, studying animal behavior, and a healthy dose of patience, as well as preparedness, because the most special moments often last only a fraction of a second.
Photography has taken me to the farthest corners of the world, from the Amazon rainforest to Africa and the Arctic Circle, but the nature around my home in Poland remains my greatest source of inspiration and the subject of most of my photos. With my photographs, I want to express the beauty of nature and make us aware of its vulnerability and preciousness.
