David Jerez says:

The photograph was taken in a field of sunflowers in Guadalajara, Spain, very close to my house. The objective of those days was to photograph birds feeding and bathing among the sunflowers. This little jumping spider was found, day after day, on the same sunflower. She watched me a bit strangely while I worked with the birds. When the ripe sunflower, some seeds fell. The spider took refuge in the hole using it as a hunting ground and that’s when this photo was revealed in front of me. Which shows, a natural simile. regarding the confinement that we all suffered and that kept us in our homes, with the only connection to the outside through a tiny window.

About David Jerez:

Spain

A firefighter by profession, he shares his free time between his passion for photography and his devotion to his family. He was beginning to take his first steps when he felt attracted to the plastic arts and nature. In the company of his inseparable bicycle, he spent a good part of his childhood and youth touring the Sierra de Madrid. while he dyed canvases, charcoals, and oils. That was how he discovered his fervor for plants, birds, insects, and mammals in those formidable Madrid landscapes. At just 12 years old, his father gave him his first camera, an analog Olympus. The possibility of freezing all that beauty in time captivated and disturbed him in equal measure. Without a doubt, photography was going to be the perfect conjunction between the enthusiasm for natural environments and the plastic arts. Self-taught, in 2010 he decided that he wanted to dedicate time, effort, sacrifice, creativity, and technique to the art of photography. Since then, he has worked on different visual disciplines and personal projects. In 2019 he joined the Portfolio Natural collective, with which he has collaborated in the production of various books such as ‘Brushstrokes of light’ or ‘The art of photographing nature. He is also the author of the book Yebes Esencia Natural. I participate in 2021 in the cycle of talks at the FiO, an international ornithological fair held in Monfrague. His photographs have aesthetic and vindictive connotations of protection and defense of the environment at all costs. Many of them have been awarded and recognized in a few national and international photographic contests. Like Fotofio (International Ornithological Tourism Fair of Extremadura), FotoAves Calendar SEO/BirdLife of national geographic, Delta Birding Festival, Fotonoja, Cádiz PhotoNature, cupoty, Asferico, MontPhoto, nature photographer of the year, absolute winner of aefona Spanish nature. He also collaborates with various international agencies such as the American Getty Images, the Spanish Fototeca 9×12, and Addictive Stock or the French Biosphoto or Naturimages.
