Magnus Reneflot says:

In early March 2023, the ice surface of the fjord just south of Oslo in March 2023 was covered with fantastic ice formations. I became aware of this at the end of February, and I spent as much time as possible catching up with the changes on the ice surfaces day by day. It was very exciting to fly the drone, looking at the screen on my iPhone and seeing what I could find out there.
From the end of February to the first week of March, I was out every day, sometimes early in the morning and late in the evening with my drone to capture the changes in the ice surface. I am the leader of the Norwegian Nature Photo Festival and there was a lot that had to be organized. It was very hectic, but it went well. The picture of the ice figure was taken on 5 March and the festival took place from 10-12 March.

My great passion for nature photography is patterns in nature. I am a treasure hunter with an open mind and like to be surprised by what appears when I photograph. I’m looking for that very special treasure, know it’s out there somewhere. Such a thought motivates me. I often think I have found it but am unsure and continue to search.
I particularly look for motifs that are concrete and abstract at the same time. It gives me countless opportunities for exciting photos. I am a very active photographer and most of my photos are captures from areas I can visit often and near where I live in Ski 20 km south of Oslo. I like to take pictures of things in nature that everyone can take part in but as people, most people don’t notice.
I like to share experiences from nature. As professional nature photographers, we have a responsibility and can set focus on what is happening in nature.
