– COPYRIGHT – PHOTOGRAPHERS RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
By entering the ‘Nature Photographer Of The Year’ contest, each photographer confirms that the photographs entered under his/her name are his/her original work, that he/she is the sole owner of the copyright and that there are no third party claims.
It is his/her responsibility to obtain releases and consents in written form for publishing, exhibiting and using his/her image if any persons appear in the photograph or if objects in the photograph are subject to the rights of third parties.
The photographer is responsible for obtaining official permits when applicable.
The photographer may be held liable for any damage that the Nature Photographer of the Year Contest may experience due to the lack of necessary release forms or missing permits.
– IMAGE USAGE RIGHTS
Photographs awarded with a prize or the status of finalist may be used in the context of the ‘Nature Photographer of the Year’ competition and its related public relations and promotion.
In addition, the ‘Nature Photographer Of The Year’ contest is entitled to exhibit the photographs in any country, for 5 years, to reproduce and distribute it in the form of print and to use it to advertise the exhibitions and publications, provided that the context of the ‘Nature Photographer Of The Year’ competition is clearly indicated.
The ‘Nature Photographer Of The Year’ is entitled to transfer the above usage rights to third parties for the purpose of providing a printing, web, or similar service to ‘Nature Photographer Of The Year’, and to publications if the pictures are used to illustrate editorial content covering the ‘Nature Photographer Of The Year’ Competition.
For the above stated usage rights the photographer cannot claim compensation or fee of any kind.
In case of inquiries concerning the purchase of usage rights of the awarded photographs, the Nature Photographer of the Year Contest will forward the contact details of the interested party to the photographer.
The required prints for the exhibition will be made on the Nature Photographer of the Year Contest’ own expenses or that of third parties eligible for using the photographs in the above conditions.
– DATA PROTECTION POLICY
In compliance with the provisions of Law 15/1999 of December 13, Protection of Personal Data, any user or participant registered at Pixall Contest (the software behind the Nature Photographer of the Year) may at any time exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition by writing to Pixall – Tecnicas Integrales Aplicadas SL – Fernando Diaz de Mendoza n.67 – Madrid; or by email at [email protected]
In accordance with the provisions of Article 5 of Law 15/1999 on Protection of Personal Data, we inform you that your personal data are incorporated into a computer file owned by Pixall (trade name owned by the company Tecnicas Integrales Aplicadas SL) and registered as required by LAW IN SPANISH DATA PROTECTION AGENCY. All customer data of our users are collected in a database and used for the purpose, in the manner and with the limitations and rights stated in Law 15/1999, Protection of Personal Data. Pixall ensures confidentiality of data provided by our customers, and guarantees that under no circumstances they will be passed to third parties outside our company business except the Organizer of this photo contest itself, nor be used for any foreign object to properly established our business relationship.
The personal data you provide us will be used in order to maintain the relationship with the user in all aspects related to the development of this contest in a way to participate, answer your questions or concerns.
Pixall shall not sell, rent, loan or lease your personal information to third parties unless you authorize it. Also it will not use or share personal information you provide over the Internet for purposes not described herein without a previous contact so you can reject this possibility.

On Nature Talks Photo Festival on the 12th of November 2022 in the Netherlands we will annouce all the winners. The winners will also participate in a Photo Exhibition on the festival before it will be traveling through the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

Week 35/36, September 2022 | Final Round NPOTY 2022* The most difficult stage for the jury: a few days of intense deliberation. The jury will choose the top 10 of photos per category, including per category the Category winners, Runner-ups, Highly Commendeds (3x), and of course the Overall winner NPOTY 2022. |
Week 37/38/39, September | Notification and information Winners NPOTY 2022 You will be notified in case you are a finalist and your photo ended in the top 10. If you win a prize, that’s still going to be a surprise. You could win nothing, but you can also be the Category winner, Runner-up, Highly Commended (3x), and of course the Overall winner of NPOTY 2022. We will invite you to come to the Nature Talks Photo Festival. Also we request image descriptions and other information. |
