Tamás says:
My photo was taken in an area we have known for a long time, on soda lake called Sóstó near the town of Mórahalom. The Kiskunság National Park has been treating this place by water buffaloes for ten years or more, therefore the bird life here is very rich and diverse. Early spring on a very windy afternoon my family and I visited this lake to take some photos of black-winged stilt with my new vintage mirror lens. I was so lucky that before sunset I could take this picture with donut bokeh, produced by the effect of the wavy and glimmering surface.

My name is Tamás Koncz-Bisztricz, I was born on April 21, 2004. I live in a small town called Csongrád and I study at the local János Batsányi Grammar School. I’ve been involved in photography since I was a kid. When I was young, my main subjects were buses and trains and I took photos using the camera of my family. My parents and I go on a lot of trips to Hungarian landscapes, mountains and the Great Plain. This is one of the reasons why I developed a love for nature.
In 2014, my family and I visited Hortobágy, where I found a flyer advertising the “Varázslatos Hortobágy” photo contest. I really liked the idea of applying to this contest. That’s when I got a bridge Fujifilm camera from my parents. From here, photography became a constant activity. My father is my teaching master, I learned the little tricks of photography from him. I consider Mr. Sándor Kovács, Mr. István Krizák, Mr. Bence Máté and Mr. Attila Szilágyi to be my role models. In the future, I would like to continue my studies as a game management or conservation engineer, and later I would like to work in a Hungarian National Park.
