This picture was taken in the Verzasca Valley in Switzerland, in the canton of Ticino.
The valley is certainly not an insider tip among photographers, but it is also absolutely fascinating. Taking photos in the Valle Verzasca is like meditation. So many shapes, colors, and structures.

You have to walk carefully along the river and on the stones, it is very slippery and I slipped away several times, unfortunately also the tripod felt into the water. The water couldn`t be clearer, as here on the wild Verzasca River. Icy cold and blue-green, the water shimmers and reflections offer wonderful plays of light. The river has transformed the stones and rocks into dream images.

No two days are the same here. The light, the water level, the day, and the season change everything. These beautiful structures in the stone remind me of petrified waves.
