Lens: During our last summer holidays in the French Jura mountains (Haut-Jura regional natural park), we hiked over “the four lakes”, whose clear waters, more or less deep, create magnificent shades of colours. I was fascinated by the beauty of the scenery offered by these lakes. From the lookout path where I stood, I took several pictures with different framings, trying to capture photos looking like paintings. At a moment I noticed two young crested grebes moving forward on the water. I waited patiently until they approached a shallow area, to photograph them in an environment that reminded me of a lagoon…

I’m Emelin Dupieux, from France. Since I was a child I have been passionate about nature. I have always been attracted to animals, small or big. I am lucky to live in the Ardèche, in the middle of chestnut trees, meadows and streams. Three years ago, I received my first camera, which started my passion for nature photography. I was then 12 years old. I was first attracted by the small animals living around my house: I spent hours outside photographing butterflies, praying mantises, springtails, salamanders, frogs… I have always tried to highlight them in an original way with beautiful sunrise or sunset lights, nice bokehs, and original framing. Since then, it’s mainly animal photography that attracts me. I am passionate about the dipper. I dream of meeting the lynx, of photographing the otter, and of travelling to the Nordic regions, to discover and photograph the fauna of the cold countries, which attracts me the most today!
